It doesn't really matter what you do with a Liberty fabric (as long as you use it!!!) in a quilt or a dress or something of the like. Leaving it in the cupboard would have to be the most depressing waste of beauty known to any person passionate about Liberty fabric. I delight in seeing these fabrics come to life especially in a quilt. I especially love seeing the older prints used, because they are quite rare and so unique!! Over the past two years I have had the luxury of working one on one with a number of women in my home town of Perth in Western Australia.... Many of these women like me are purist when it comes to quilting and will make an entire quilt using only Liberty fabric including backing, binding, even the inside of a pillow sham!!! Yep that's right, the inside... how cool...! When I questioned this person on such a practice i got in return a look of horror as if to say "but of course darling, how common to think I could consider using anything else!" Bubble (off 'Absolutely Fabulous) would agree wholeheartedly I'm sure............
Leah made this AMAZING strippy quilt for her viewing pleasure and it now resides in the guest bedroom upstairs in the parents retreat!!
Leah's puddy cat who obviously appreciates the finer things in life (or perhaps was attracted to the birds she may possibly catch on the back) found the quilt to be a worthy place to spend the afternoon napping.
